zTrip (WHC Worldwide) is the nation’s largest taxi transportation provider, delivering reliable, technology‑enabled mobility solutions across more than 25 U.S. markets. We are seeking an experienced Fleet Vice President of Operations to lead our Austin market. This role carries full responsibility for fleet operations, financial performance, team leadership, and service delivery across the region.

As Fleet VP of Operations, you will set the operational vision, drive profitability, and ensure the safety, readiness, and efficiency of our vehicle fleet while leading high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced transportation environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Fleet VP of Operations:

Market & Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all fleet and operational activities for the Austin market
  • Maintain full ownership of P&L performance, financial results, and cost controls
  • Establish operational priorities aligned with company strategy and growth goals
Fleet Performance & Readiness
  • Ensure fleet availability, preventive maintenance, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with maintenance teams to optimize uptime, safety, and vehicle lifecycle costs
  • Drive continuous improvement in fleet utilization and service reliability
Team & Workforce Leadership
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop management teams, employees, and Independent Contractors
  • Partner with HR on workforce planning, engagement, and leadership development
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence
Compliance, Safety & Stakeholder Relations
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, city officials, and community stakeholders
  • Represent the company in local partnerships, contract discussions, and public forums
Financial, Data & Growth Management
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget with a focus on profitability and efficiency
  • Use KPIs and performance metrics to guide decision‑making and operational improvements
  • Support contract negotiations, new business opportunities, and market expansion initiatives

Qualifications of a Fleet VP of Operations:

  • 5–10 years of senior leadership experience in transportation, fleet operations, or general management
  • Proven success managing full P&L responsibility
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high‑performing, cross‑functional teams
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
