What You'll Do as a Driver Manager:

Driver Recruitment & Growth

  • Identify and attract qualified driver candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, community outreach, networking events, and recruiting initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective drivers to support growth objectives.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluate applicants for fit, qualifications, and potential success.
  • Represent zTrip at job fairs, hiring events, and community functions.
  • Promote zTrip as an employer of choice within the transportation industry.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to develop workforce strategies and staffing plans.

Onboarding & Driver Success

  • Guide new drivers through the onboarding process from application to activation.
  • Assist with employment documentation, licensing requirements, and company paperwork.
  • Coordinate orientation and training activities.
  • Ensure new drivers understand company policies, expectations, safety procedures, and service standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for new drivers during their transition into the fleet.
  • Help create a positive and professional onboarding experience.

Driver Relations & Retention

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers throughout their tenure.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with both new and experienced drivers.
  • Identify concerns, obstacles, or opportunities that may impact driver performance or satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Operations to improve driver engagement and retention efforts.
  • Support driver recognition programs and retention initiatives.
  • Assist in resolving driver concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Advocate for drivers by connecting them with company resources and support.

Performance Management & Coaching

  • Monitor driver performance and provide guidance to help drivers achieve success.
  • Coach drivers on professionalism, customer service, attendance, and operational expectations.
  • Recognize top performers and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Assist in implementing corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Help foster a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence.

Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate driver records and documentation.
  • Track recruiting, onboarding, retention, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership.
  • Analyze trends and recommend improvements to enhance driver success and retention.
  • Support process improvements that streamline operations and improve the driver experience.

Qualifications of a Driver Manager:

Preferred Experience

  • Recruiting, Human Resources, Driver Management, Employee Relations, Customer Service, Operations, Staffing, Sales, or Workforce Development.
  • Experience interviewing candidates and managing employee or contractor relationships.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and workforce management systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and initiative.
